Federal Skilled Worker Program

The Federal Skilled Worker Program has been included in the Express Entry program by the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) in January 2015. It is a Point Based System where a candidate requires a minimum of 67 points to become eligible to apply. The program has 6 selection factors,

  2. Education
  3. Work experience
  4. Language skills
  5. Whether you have an arranged Job offer from Canada (optional)
  6. Whether you have study, work or have any blood relative in Canada (optional)

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

Situated between the provinces of Saskatchewan and Ontario, Manitoba is the province of Canada which is rightly considered as the gateway to the modern western Canada. With the population of approximately 1.2 million, Manitoba’s economy is largely based on agriculture and natural resources.

Winnipeg, where most of its population resides, is the capital city of Manitoba. Named as the Cultural Capital of Canada in 2010 by the Canadian Heritage, Winnipeg is attracting hundreds of thousands of people around the world wishing to immigrate.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program is the fastest way to receive the immigration of Canada. The applicants of MPNP receive additional points from the Federal’s Express Entry Points System and will receive an Invitation to apply for the permanent residency or PR from the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) which reduces the processing time for the immigration for the candidates applying through this program.

Business Class Immigration

If you are an entrepreneur and want to start a business or already own a business or maybe you are looking to invest your money then you have a great opportunity to immigrate to Canada through its different business and investor’s visa types.

Along with the Federal Investor/Business immigration there are also Provincial Nomination Programs for every province in Canada. There are other options available as well, like Entrepreneur Start-Up Visa Program, in which you need support and funds from a designated Canadian investment organization to start your business and Self-Employed Persons Program where you need to prove your income as a self-employed individual through which you can also support your family and dependents.

Visitor visa

If you wish to enter Canada for a temporary period such as a visitor, tourist, student or a foreign worker then you need a document called Temporary Resident Visa, commonly known as Visit visa, issued by the Canadian Visa office of your country.

An individual cannot enter into Canada without the TRV unless you are citizen of a visa exempt country. Often, visitors and tourists receive a TRV valid for around 6 months, which can be for single entry or multiple entries whereas students and foreign workers get their visa for varying period of time depending on the case of the individual.

Student visa

The education system of Canada is said to be one of the best in the world. Students in many colleges and universities in Canada are receiving high quality higher education at a very low cost as compared to other developed countries such United State and United Kingdom. There are over 300,000 international students in Canada.

In order to apply for the student visa you must have a Letter of Acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI). A DLI is list of educational institutions designated for the international students. Once you receive the letter of acceptance from the institute of your choice, you can then apply for the student visa.

You have to provide the following documents to apply for the student visa

  • Proof of acceptance
  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of financial support
  • Letter of explanation

Along with the above documents you may also need a proof of your language competence. IELTS, TOEFL, ESL & CAEL are the English language test accepted in almost all colleges and universities in Canada.

You can also find a suitable job while studying as a full time student in Canada. Depending on your institute, you can either work on-campus or off-campus without a work permit where as you need work permit if you are in a co-op or internship program. A full-time student can work off-campus up to 20 hours a week and full time during scheduled breaks, like summer or winter holidays.

Work Visa

To work as a foreign worker in Canada you need a Canadian work permit issued to you by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). A work permit is required to work in Canada temporarily and for a specific period of time. However, in order to obtain this visa your employer will have to file a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). If your LMIA is approved by the ESDC only then you can apply for a Work Permit or Work Visa.

Quebec-selected skilled worker

Quebec is French province of Canada situated in the east of Ontario. It is the largest province in Canada and second largest province in term of population. The population of Quebec is predominantly of French people but lately there has been a vast increase in the population of people with different ethnicity. Quebec is currently accepting application for immigration in its province through it Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Family-Sponsorship Visa

This visa is for those whose has a relative living in Canada as a permanent resident or as a citizen. Your relative may include your

  • Spouse or partner

You may get the visa if you can prove that you can

  • Arrange an Invitation letter from your Canadian sponsor
  • Show your ties to your home country
  • Show the purpose of your visit
  • Prove your family and finances

Your sponsor must prove that he/she can

  • meet basic needs—such as food, clothing and shelter—for his/her family and your family
  • support you financially and
  • make sure you do not need to ask for financial help from the government.
